I asked my brother to help with my mixer stand plan. He's an awesomely smart guy and came up with this extremely simple design. It's SO much easier and simpler than what I'd conceived! We should be able to put this together in a heartbeat! My one concern would be the arc (horizontal travel toward and away from the stand) as the mixer lowers, but with sufficient horizontal distance between the mixer and the stand (length of the rotational arms), the lateral distance traveled could be set to the perfect distance to clear the upper rim of the bucket and bottom out just above the center of the bottom of the bucket. It would take very little to rewire the drill switch to put the trigger in the handle.
